Not only NO, but HELL NO....this "woman" has shown absolutely no remorse for these killings even after having served something like 7 months in custody. This is one sick person, she was also charged with possessing child pornography, but the charges were stayed. The best thing they could do for everyone involved would be to keep her behind bars indefinitely!

Bourque, a former criminology student at Simon Fraser University, has admitted to taking delight in killing animals and fantasizing about shooting homeless people. Several psychologists who interviewed Bourque found she showed no remorse or insight into her crimes.

So far it's only her lawyer trying to get the restriction changed......

    "Bourque's lawyer" said
"We want her to be involved in mental health. We want her to be involved in lots of other things so that she can hopefully not end up with any problems in her future."

....."not end up with problems in her future".....from what I've read about this woman she already has enough problems to keep a half dozen people in therapy for the next 10-20 years. Why burden her more with having a live....hopefully...animal or animals to care for and worry about? Of course, knowing the Canadian judicial system, they will probably consider the restrictions too harsh and allow her to get her hands on another "pet" so she can once again cause unnecessary pain, suffering or injury to them.....

Bourque wants to shoot homeless people? In much of the USA that qualifies her to wear a badge. 8)

It is not a matter of rehabilitation. She sounds like a sociopath. There is no cure for psychopathy. She will not "advance" or "show progress" as her lawyer puts it. She will hurt animals again if given the opportunity. She has no choice in the matter. She is probably just doing this for attention, something scoiopaths often crave.

Maybe she should apply for a job in this year's seal hunt to redeem herself.

The problem is that she doesn't want to see animals die, she wants to see them suffer. She's hooked up wrong.

Ah, excuse me. If she wants to make animals suffer then she needs a job at the Inland Revenue.

When I read about this one, I got flashbacks of that movie, The Orphan.

You thought she was a sweet little child, turns out to be a murderous raving lunatic.

"There have been cases where people have been banned from owning animals for up to 25 years and I have asked the court to look at those for an appropriate limitation,"

Lifetime ban is an 'appropriate limitation'. Want a pet? too fucking bad.
