An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale has struck an area off British Columbia's coast, almost 200 kilometres southwest of Bella Bella. The United States National Weather Service says a tsunami isn't expected as a result of the quake in the ocean.
The big one's a'comin', some day. Stay the hell out of Surrey (good advise at any time, actually).
So they say...
I moved from Richmond in June and am up on the central coast now, east of Bella Bella. I am on much more solid ground than back home that's for sure! We would not be directly affected by a tsunami here either, islands to the west would bear the brunt of it.
Speaking of quakes a chum of mine who follows seismic stuff says the swarm of quakes up in the Aleutians may well be an indicator of a volcanic eruption getting ready to happen.
Yellowstone is gonna blow. Nice knowing you, Bart.
You know, if it ever comes to pass that Yellowstone looks like it's going to go then I want to be there to see it and stream it live on the web. That'd be a helluva way to go!
Already been done by Woody Harrelson in the movie 2012.....
