The 38-year-old mother, whose name can't be published to protect the identity of her children, allegedly told Quebec's child protective services that she had recurring nightmares of entering her daughters' room and stabbing them to death with a knife.
Two weeks after she told her story to Quebec's child welfare agency, police arrested her and charged her with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon, and for failing to provide the necessities of life.
I sometimes wish we could have a nuclear war and start over.

I'm sure you're right, but she's already spent 90 days in prison without seeing her children. If that was her plan all along just to ge a break... i can sort of understand, but I suspect the tax payers will be on the hook for just a few dollars in compensation.
Oh shit you can arrested for dreams now? Well....shit.
Seriously though, she didn't actually hurt her kids, and there's no evidence she's a bad mother. I'm sure every parent has imagined murdering their kids at least once, although never actually doing it.
Maybe she has had dealings with the child welfare agency in the past. Perhaps she needs to speak with someone from the agency on a regular basis.
I will say though that if the agency did nothing, and Mom ended up killing her kids in a bathtub (like happened out west not too long ago), child welfare would be crucified in the court of public opinion for their inaction.
However the charges, going by what we know, are ridiculous. 90 days in jail?

Well this lady looks like she needs some mental help its a shame that the Quebec authorities feel that jail is a good idea; perhaps she isn't the only one that needs some mental help.

I dunno about you guys, but I don't call the Government everytime I have a dream.
