Japan marked the 68th anniversary Tuesday of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima with a sombre ceremony to honour the dead and pledges to seek to eliminate nuclear weapons.

Terrible weapons used on a terrible enemy to end a terrible war. I hope we never again find ourselves forced to consider the nuclear option.
