The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired goalie Jonathan Bernier from the Los Angeles Kings in a trade on Sunday that sent goalie Ben Scrivens, forward Matt Frattin, and a second round draft pick to L.A.
While it's an excellent trade for the Leafs, it makes you wonder what management's problem with Reimer was? Prior to the playoffs, they were contemplating getting busted down Kiprusoff.
Bernier is young, talented and should fit right in with the Leafs.
I'm not sure how much market value Reimer has considering he's still not a proven #1 goalie, however if Nonis can pull the Bernier deal out of his ass then maybe there's still some magic in that old silk hat.

Um, I don't think you traded all that you did to have Bernier sit on the bench. Unless Bernier bombs Reimer's days as #1 are done.
I wouldn't be surprised to see them move Reimer out as part of a package for a #1 Centre.
I can't see it but, Nonis is a product of the Burke school of General Managing so anything is possible.
