Unwritten rule 1:23-4 subsection 3 of the code.

If your going to snow cone the goalie while holding a 5 goal lead, be prepared to fight back.

    Bush-league.

There's no reason to condone taking someone's helmet off and beating them repeatedly in the face at 16 years old.

That mentality you have has to change.

So taking someone's helmet off his head while he is down and beating his face half to pulp is 'part of the game'?

I beg to differ. I think it is plain assault.

A stupid move that didn't deserve that kind of beating 5 goal lead or not. A hockey fight it wasn't, an assault it was.

Once your down and out a real enforcer would have stopped. Only a sadistic out of control little shit would have done what this kid did to a helpless opponent whether the guy turtled or not.

Definitely the switch that triggered the brawl and should not have happened. A pure display of poor sportsmanship. Helmets come off easy, and he deserved a good bop or two but the pounding was a little extreme. What would he have done if his team was getting stomped and his goalie got sprayed?
Spraying the goalie looks harmless but shooting ice chips into someone's face can harm their eyes. I've done it goofing around and they had every right to get mad at me when it hit their eye.

Helmets with full face masks don't come off easy unless they are too big.

Looks to me like the kid who was doing the beating needs an ample taste of his own medicine.

This is why hockey is starting to lose kids to other sports. Parents don't want their kids to be on their third concussion by the time they're 18.

Five months after the attack and the police are like "these things take time"? They don't take five months when you have clear video evidence. Get with the program.

Tell the police that the kid who got beaten was gay and then they'll act on it PDQ.
