Some big changes, some small, but some of the odd dualities, such as Classic Desktop for Excel, will still exist

Finally all happy to get a new laptop and it only comes with WIndows 8 crap. I'll be downloading the update to get the start button for sure. Too bad I can't get rid of the lame tile screen for good. As it is I am in the traditional desktop view 98% of the time as I see noo use to the tiles.

I am given to understand that there is a download that can make windows 8 look like windows 7.

Mrs GT has a windows 8 laptop and hates the new OS. Is there an AP?

I use classic shell. Free and works great.

You can also give Start8 a try, but it isn't free and you'll need to buy it to keep using it after the trial period.

On the taskbar, but it still doesn't function like it used to.

Classic Shell or Start8 is a must to get the old functionality back.

It's where it used to be. Bottom left. But not really a start button. Just takes you to the stupid and ugly tile view.
