Man dead in suspected Woolwich terror attack

Two attackers armed with meat cleavers filmed their deadly assault on a man in Woolwich, according to Sky sources.

One person is thought to be dead and two are said to be seriously injured after the attack in southeast London this afternoon.

There have been reports that a man was hit by a car, and that there was then an attack in the street involving a large knife.

Sky sources believe the attack was likely a politically motivated Islamist attack.

Senior Whitehall sources said the attackers had also asked passers-by to film them, and they shouted "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is great).

Footage also shows the men saying: "We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you".

Witnesses also described seeing the "crazed" Woolwich attackers "hacking" at their victim and posing for pictures before charging at police wielding meat cleavers.

One onlooker, identified as James, said he saw two black men chopping at a man in his 20s like he was "a piece of meat".

"They were hacking at this poor guy, literally. They were hacking at him, chopping him, cutting him," he told LBC.

Describing the murderers as "animals", he told how he saw them drag their victim from the pavement into the middle of the road.

"These two guys were crazed," he said as he fought back tears.

"They then stood around, waving knives and a gun, asking people nearby to take pictures of them "as if they wanted to be on TV or something".

He said they were running up and down the road, urging people to take pictures.

This was NOT and act of terrorism. This was an act of fundamental Islam. The attackers were just following the tenets of their religion. The sooner people realize that the quicker this problem can be dealt with.

In other parts of the video, said to be too shocking to show, it is claimed he says: “This British soldier is an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.”
