When we allow foreign workers to come take jobs in Canada at vastly reduced wages we open our labour market up to compete against the most impoverished desperate people on the planet.
Anyone could make a random "requirement" to ensure Canadians don't fit the bill. "Must be willing to work 80 hour weeks for below minimum wage, speak Aztec, be no taller than 5 ft, and enjoy the whip"
What a crock o' sh1t.

That last part could be perceived as a benefit in some circles.
But lying on applications or inventing BS qualifications to allow foreign workers to come in at a fraction of what they would pay Canadians? How can people be so blind to the effect this has on the workforce?!
It’s pretty easy to get on your high horse and say they should have been more qualified, or should have worked harder, or expected less… at least until they decide your job should be “in-sourced” to an imported worker whose only real qualification is they are willing to work longer hours for far less pay because they place they come from smells like a cesspool. Race to the bottom...
