WAINWRIGHT, Alta. - A commanding officer of a Canadian Forces base in Alberta has been charged with sexual assault and drunkenness, a decade after he was cleared in a different sex scandal in Ontario.

    I guess the position's more like the Laundry Officer at HMCS Naden than the Base Commander of CFB Halifax.

    Caretaker, with no overly large amount of responsibility which might explain why someone with his rank and past accusations got the job.

    ^^ What he said. Apparently Wainright held only an ASU designation, not a full CFB. It only has a permanent presence of < 1,000 military and civilian personnel, mostly in support functions like Signals and Field Ambulance. It's primarily a training facility and manoeuvre area for 1 CMBG.
