Paul Rose, one of the key figures in Quebec's October Crisis, died today of a stroke at the age of 69.

    My parents didn't. They witnessed military vehicles with troops rolling through Hull, QC on their way east. After that my father being an anglophone driving Quebec city buses who spoke french with an english accent had to quit his job because of the language tensions between co-workers. It was either that or he was going to be charged with assault. He left a bus full of people on a friday afternoon, and walked off the job because of a "dispute" with his supervisor.

    I was living in Nova Scotia and everybody looked at me as if I was a terrorist. :(

    That sucks man.

    Good thing is that a new generation from both sides are going to eventually take over and we'll never see that shit again. My best bud is francophone.
