If they were required to own guns, would the state provide them? Sounds like communism.

    Interesting and unnerving.

On another note....must be slow for the Mods. That's two gun threads in a row they've started.

Overheard at the Québec/Maine border crossing...

Border guard - Do you have a gun?
    Québec tourist - No.
Border guard - Come inside in that case, we have a nice selection of rifles and pistols, even a few semi-automatics left. No charge, you just need to drop them off when you leave.

Maybe we should change the name of the site to Canada Gun Control or something. The way it is now--Canadaka--it kind of leads people to belive we discuss things besides gun control.

I agree. As much as I want people to be free to own firearms they also need to be free not to own firearms if they so desire.

I could start a global warming topic if you're really all that bored. 8)

    Gun climate change?

Guns prevent climate change, just as they prevent crime. Give everybody in the world full auto arms and plenty of ammo, maybe even something heavier, and we'll finally put an end to rising population. Best chance we have of reducing GHGs.

Does shooting a gun contribute to global warming?

Each bullet would produce a few grams of CO2, I would imagine.

All the bullets fires in the USA during a year probably doesn't equal the CO2 emitted during one NASCAR race.
