As International Co-operation Minister Julian Fantino heads to Africa for talks on the fighting in Mali, CBC News has learned Canadian special forces are inside the West African nation to protect Canadian assets there.

    One of the best ways they protected the bombers in WWII was to go out ahead and break up the attacks forming up and to attack the bases. :idea:

    So what, that is one of their mandates. It is very general statement when they say "Special Forces", there are several different groups and they do different jobs. And yes, "Close Protection" is a madated task of Canadian "Special Forces".
