I'm sorry to see him leave. He's been a great player for the Lions.

Bummer. No more touchdown superman poses. At least us BC lions hope not. Not when we play Saskatchewan anyway.

A little old and brittle, but Superman is Superman. I'm excited to see what he gets done for us!

I'm taking up a collection from all BC Lions fans so we can put a hit on who ever traded Geroy.....

While I hate to see him go, it seems to be a mutually agreed upon event.....

"After many weeks of discussion with Geroy, we have reached a point where we believe it's in the best interest of both parties to move forward with a mutually agreed upon trade," Lions general manager Wally Buono said in a statement. "Geroy's accomplishments as a player are well documented and his work in our community has been outstanding.

So, I'm sorry Q, you won't be getting any contribution from me to put a hit on either Wally Buono or Mike Benevides. I just hope I never see the Superman pose in any game the Lions play in 2013 or beyond! :)

A pretty big gamble on the Riders' part considering Geroy's age, however this could pay off HUGE for the Riders.

That was my thought as well. I think Geroys best years are behind him and BC trading him now is actually a smarter move than holding on for a few more years.

Yea, they're talking about the "leadership and experience" angle in the Rider camp.

I think he may come to SK with something to prove too. Show his old boss that he's NOT too old and brittle to put up big numbers.

He'll never be what he was again, but he wasn't bad last year. He made some key catches.

All we needed was someone to take the pressure off Dressler and Geroy will be perfect for that since he'll be the one drawing the double coverage. Plus he won't be able to kill us in the Western Finals anymore.

Since we didn't give up much of anything for him I'd say we'll be okay even if he isn't the Superman of old.

Hope Wally's youth movement works out since he lost alot of reception yards and experience by dumping Simon and Bruce.

I was never a real fan of Bruce, seems to me he was interested more in himself than the team as a whole. He and defensive back Byron Parker, who was also let go by the Lions, were both signed by Montreal earlier this week.

I read the Lions wanted him to take a 50% pay cut. Must be getting employment tips from Caterpillar. He should be a good addition to the Riders, take some pressure off Dressler. Riders also got George Cortez from Hamilton as OC so hopefully that will also be a plus

I think he could have lived with the paycut. It's the being demoted to the 6th receiver spot that probably really rankled.

Anyway, he'll get alot more playing time in Saskatchewan and still make a decent paycheck. Now all we have to do is get Durant to quit telegraphing his passes and all will be well.
