The NHL has made a significant new proposal to the players association that could indicate a move towards a collective bargaining agreement to end the months-long lockout, according to media reports confirmed by Hockey Night in Canada's Elliotte Friedman.

    I wouldn't bother watching any hockey this year even if they got a season going,
    just write it off and start again in September...
