When I lived in Victoria, Emergency Preparedness gave every household a sign that says "HELP!" on one side and "All OK" on the other. I hope people still have them and know where they are.
Have never seen this, anyone have an idea what he's on about ?

Yep. I'll have to ask the boss if we still have ours.
"Freakinoldguy" said Another one and we're still okay. It's the one that knocks the big mound of dirt over in the mouth of the Fraser that i'm worried about.
The straights will look like that scene from Escape from LA with Snake and the hippie surfing down the viaduct.
"the big mound of dirt over in the mouth of the Fraser"?? I don't catch your meaning here, probably the only thing that's gonna happen there is Richmond and Lulu island is just going to liquefy and disappear altogether. The thing I'd worry about is Jackass mountain finally coming down, totally blocking the Fraser river south of Lytton.
Hmm that would be interesting. The Fraser'd probably back up and cut a new channel into Harrison Lake. Nobody down there's notice the difference the Canyon's so dead anyways! But they'd sure notice the airport and Richmond gone when the shit backs up all the way to Mission with every turn of the tide.

The shit already does back up to Mission with the tides, sort of, the Fraser is a tidal river with the boundary being at the Mission bridge, although you can still at times see some tidal action as far as the Harrison river.

Apparently there's a very large amount of silt built up at the mouth of the Fraser River that if we ever have an earthquake big enough to knock it over will cause a wall of water to rush across the straight and hit the East side of Vancouver Island.
I saw this about 10 years ago in an email from the Gov't about proposed Tsumani scenarios for Vancouver Island that a friend sent me So I'll see if I can dig it up again because it showd the potential areas of damage and Delta would be hit with a Tsumnami right after it liquified.
Just the precursors to the big one coming on December 21....
Yup.

Cool, never thought about that scenario, looked it up and found this.....
Thanks.
The one the guy sent me had animations that showed the proposed height of water etc.
It kept me occupied for hours.
