    Comparison ends at appearance.

Comparing a political leader to an of the NHL seems a little off to me.

The fact of the matter is I am being serious, in my opinion both come across as overbearing, officious, obnoxious and autocratic. The similarities don't end there, Mussolini was shot and killed then hung upside down in Milan, I'm sure there are quite a few hockey fans in both Canada and the USA who would consider that to be an appropriate demise for Bettman these days.

In that case, I agree with OTI.

Bettman is a only a voice...
He was hired to do the dirty work so that the owners don't look too bad.
Everything he does and says is ratified by those owners.
If he left, they'd hire another voice.

same owners = same decisions = same situation

Then those hockey fans have no idea what they're talking about, you included.

Gary is an employee of the owners. He gets direction FROM THE OWNERS. Some of you would like to believe that Gary is the driving force behind everything bad at the NHL when in fact, he's just the guy acting on orders from the Board of Governors...the owners of the 30 NHL franchises.

Gary isn't restricting teams from Canada. The owners are.

Gary didn't order a lockout. The owners did.

    Let's place blame where it's due....the 30 NHL owners

Tonight should be the first HNIC of the season.

I wonder if Don will put on a scary suit anyway and call Paul to argue about which side is right/wrong!

Battman's demeanour requires 3 minutes in goal facing slapshots.
