They are trying to see what exactly they can get away with before the opposition calls them on it. There's more provocation to come.

This is wrong. Politicizing our children's education will result in ultimately our children paying the price. In this case, if the PQ would be able to get it's way, we'd have kids who are enrolled in the French school system in Quebec coming out of school without the necessary skills required to succeed in today's global economy. Of course this will never pass as the PQ currently has a minority government, and the opposition parties would not support it.

The PQ doesnt give a hoot about the global economy, just promoting their
own warped views to poison children against Canada for the next 50 years.

I dont know what needs to be passed thru Parliament though.
The opposition may yell about it, not sure there is much they can do.

Ultimately the separatist regime in Quebec will get its little French only Utopia and forever-after remain a cultural backwater in North America,a Cuba of the North if you will.
At this point i no longer see any relevance to Quebec remaining as part of the Canadian collective as they dont like Canada and they dont like any one who isnt French.For us Anglos that still remain theres only one option and that is to leave as theres also no relevance to an Anglo staying in Quebec and forever being marginalized and treated like a second class citizen even though we are mostly fully bilingual.
I've become what some might call an Anglo separatist,i dont want these ungrateful separatists in my country any more and as our government wont boot them out i'll certainly cast any ballot in a future referendum in favor of Quebecs separation.

So in other worlds you'll become a part of the problem by casting a frustration vote?

If you feel this way about the province in which you live then maybe you should just leave and let it mind it's own affairs?

Separatists are still in the minority in the province and in a slow agonizing decline as the hardliners who are of a part generation all die off. The PQ messing with education in this way is sure to cause them more harm than good in the PR department, giving them less of a chance in any future election.

No, I don't think they will. Personally, I prefer the US approach to separation. i.e. You are free to leave the country, but you ain't taking any land with you.

Maybe you missed the recent election, the separatists were voted in,Separatism in Quebec is no where near dead or declining.
You seem to think Quebec worthy of remaining in Canada,with their record on elimination of the English culture in Quebec why would you think they deserve to remain in Canada as they dont like Canada and look at it as in insult to be called Canadian and they also dont like non Francophones.
If leaving was so simple i'd be out of hear in a heartbeat but with kids in college, wife getting close to retirement were here for a few more years.

Maybe you missed that they were held to a minority and that the vote was more about protest against the liberal government of Jean Charest than it was about support of separation.

I think you're painting with too broad a brush. Everyone I know in Quebec, both family, co-workers and friends are very proud Canadians. You're confusing the divisive desires of a minority of politicians with the desire of the common people.

The point stands, you chose to live there.

Obviously, everyone you know isnt a real representation of Quebec.

The last referendum was 51 - 49..

I don't really give a big shit. We could have an all French Quebec and all English ROC and still be a country if we want.

The main people who will be hurt by this and come out against it are the Frenchies who realize it's a good thing to know some English, even if only to be able say "I fart in your general direction"

You're lucky, at least you can venture outside of Montreal and communicate with the rest of Quebec. I only speak English (and a little Spanish), thus when residing in Quebec as I am now (and not the U.S.), I stay in Montreal where I get by fine with my English.

Jughead i presume you are learning French as if you live in Quebec its expected of you.
