A B.C. government report recommends increasing logging in the province's central Interior, a region hit hard by the pine beetle epidemic and an explosion that demolished the Burns Lake sawmill.

    This spring, like every other one I can remember, the tree-planting crews were all over this area. Rather puts the lie to MacDonald's blanket statement. What a woos.

    For an extremely short time. There haven't been nearly as many as a decade ago. Last year they were only around here for a couple weeks.

    Better plan, burn it all. Kills the beetles and the forest regrows greener than before.

    Forest fire risk is high to extreme almost everywhere as it is.

    Intentional burning is a very bad idea.
