It was just over a month ago that a Manitoba judge fretted publicly about the possibility Derrick Sanderson would be set free from jail early and stab someone.
?Cases like this one make judges worry,? Pollack told him. ?No judge wants to be the one who gave what would look like to any member of the public to be a very low sentence and then hear the next day that this person was released early from jail and stabbed somebody.?
100 days for stabbing someone and they can't keep him in that long?
A year and a half for growing plants?
Dumb on crime.
His concerning criminal history — he was described by another judge last year as being “off the rails” — is all linked to a major booze problem, court was told.

He didn't stab anyone to garner the 100days. He was caught drinking and Driving and had two knives on him.
"putz" said He didn't stab anyone to garner the 100days. He was caught drinking and Driving and had two knives on him.
I guess I misread that, thanks..
Since becoming an adult he’s racked up a number of convictions, including for forcible entry, drug and weapons possession, mischief and breaching conditions of bail and probation orders.

He wasn't drunk with knives though.
Was just wondering what does one actually have to do in Canada to actually end up in the slammer for a long time ?
Be a white male doing nothing wrong.
Cool, that means I'm good
Yep. Me too. You're not white enough, and I'm not man enough
Cool, that means I'm good
Not really, because you'll get detained at an airport instead.
I'm good too, cause I'm always doing something wrong.
Yer from Quebec, you should be locked up regardless
