After days of delay for the results of its presidential runoff, Egypt has announced Mohammed Morsi as the winner of the election and the country's new president, the Associated Press reports. Morsi, the candidate from the Muslim Brotherhood, faced off wit
I kid, I kid.
They aren't unfortunately.
here's a big problem with Canada right here -
Is he a Canadian citizen or an Egyptian citizen? If he's voting in Egypt, he's not a Canadian. You're either a Canadian citizen 100%, or you're not. Enough with the split loyalties BS.
Much like La Cosa Nostra, I don't see the Brotherhood as an organization you just "resign" from.
Resignation aside, the current Muslim Brotherhood seems to be a pretty cagey, pragmatic and diplomoatic group that knows how to broker deals between difefernt entities. Despite the name, wouldn't automatically assume that they are "radical islamists" ...but we will have to see how much influence religious conservatives have on that group.
But then again....
Two-front war for the Israelis? Like they'll sit around now waiting for that to happen. This guy isn't even in office yet and he's already dealt a massive blow to those of us who thought it was too dangerous for Israel to attack Iran. With an assumed neutral like Egypt apparently now returning to "enemy" status most of the blocks against pre-emptive action against Iran have practically disappeared overnight.
I'll call it now: if this goes the way it appears it now will, Israel will smash Iran before the end of this year. Expect massive chaos worldwide that'll affect everything including the outcome of the US election to oil prices skyrocketing to $150 a barrel or more.
Oh, yeah, almost forgot that the US has been arming the shit out of Egypt for the last thirty years with practically the same equipment they've been giving to Israel. No repeats of 1967 or 1973 when Israel shredded the Arabs and their shit equipment that the Soviets had been giving them. If Egypt and Israel go at it, it'll be American supply vs American supply the next time around with Israels' advantage in terms of technology and quality pretty much negated. Yay?

It was never the equipment that was the difference in the Israel-Arab conflicts, but the men using them.
The Israelis were always highly professional and well-trained and well-led, while the Egyptians, Syrians and everyone else were, for the most part not. Israel still has the uppr hand in a conventional conflict with the Arab states, no matter who they bought their weapons from.

Nay..
2 things.. 1st is training of the military, no contest.
2nd, the Egyptians will discover, as the Iranians did.. the chips can be turned off.
But a 'review' of Camp David, and relations with Iran are definitely moves in the
wrong direction.
I only hope the military will be able to keep this guy under control.
If not, it wont be very good. The Egyptian economy isnt in good shape,
and the people will be expecting something to change... like the Argentinians.

You have to lookat history Thanos. The Israelis handed the Arabs their asses with second hand, second rate Soviet weapons, while the British supplied officers and state of the art weapons to the Arab Legion. As Boots points out it was all about those doing the fighting, not really the weapons they had. Israel has also taken alot of weapon systems from the Americans and modified/improved them. They've also got their own systems too. A fucking regiment of sand pirates isn't the equal of a platoon of the IDF.
If Ali Baba Fett and his 400 million thieves try the Israelis again, they'll find themselves getting seriously fucked over. Personally, I'd do my damnedest to get there and help defend the place, or if not, make life that much shorter for any fuckers dancing in the streets of Canada cheering the destruction of Israeli citizens and cities. I make no bones about it.
The winner is...
