B.C.'s new motorcycling safety regulations took effect Friday, marking an end to the novelty helmets known as skid lids, skull caps and beanies.

    I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to wear a proper helmet while riding. I've seen pictures of the aftermath of a motorcycle crash, the persons head was crushed.
