A review board may be asked today to grant more freedom to a man who beheaded a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus along a highway in rural Manitoba.

This man shouldn't be allowed to ever walk free.

Just watch, it will happen.. we are that stupid.

This guy makes me sick, and the way system is coddling him to the max,
while Tim gets completely forgotten, makes me even sicker.

The review board should be armed with Samurai swords.

escorted walks in Selkirk could pose a tempting target for those seeking social justice or interested in public safety.....not advocating, just saying.

I think my position on capital punishment is well established. I'd have executed the fucker. But let's save the outrage for when he actually gets out or is allowed to walk about unescorted. Neither of those things will ever happen, so why get angry about it?

"It’s ridiculously difficult. I don't believe review boards should exist in cases of NCR [not criminally responsible] killings. I think if a person is that deficient, they should never be free," she said.

I can't imagine how hard this must be on Tim's loved ones...

You're right about offing the fucker and not getting mad about him since he may never get out but, as long as the potential for escorted, unescorted, or a full release remain a possibility, it's not hard to understand why people get a little pissed whenever they hear his name.

If the idiots who are running the system were willing to let Schoeborn out to go to town on a day pass why would good old Vince be any different?

This story is the white poppy of criminal justice.

Every year he gets a review, and every year he is denied.

    Yawn.

And every year the victims loved ones have to go through it again. Every day, they live with the fear if their son's (loved one's) brutal murderer would get more privileges or even freedom.
    Yawn?

Yeah, yawn. He's going to get a review every year until the day he dies in that place. If the family didn't have to read these "they want to let him free" stories all the time, maybe they could find some peace. How can they if they have reporters calling for comments every time this somehow makes the news?

    Right.
WHY should they have to deal with that shit?
If he was found criminally responsible, they wouldn't have to. Why do they now? He's not criminally responsible and that fact alone makes it way harder on Tim's loved ones. AND they have to deal with this crap every year? Room for improvement.

Your disrespect is showing. Hail the criminal, right?

Must be a virus going around CKA. How sleazy of you, Brenda. Show me where Curt said anything like hail the criminal.

The law is too easy on crazy killers tho. If they're not going to be sentenced to a definite term of incarceration, they should have to at least go 3 years of being deemed "cured" before being let out. And, how many doctors are on the panel that decides this? I hope it's at least 3, maybe 5 would be better.

"Yawn". In normal people's language, that means "Oh well, mom, quit yer bitching. He is entitled to these hearings and you will just have to deal with it."

Instead of that his sympathy goes out to the victims loved ones, Curtman lets us know Vince Lee's hearings deserve the sympathy.
"YAWN." Most disrespectful thing I have seen or heard in a long time.

Sympathy? No. Stop harassing the family with these stories. He's never going to be free, so its not necessary to get the public in a frenzy about it.

Just to nit-pick: Criminals are guilty of crimes. Vince Li was found not guilty, by reason of insanity.
