Over 25 years he has racked up 64 driving violations, which include speeding, not obeying stop signs and/or running red lights, suspensions and driving prohibitions.

Can't hep but wonder, if a judge had actually stepped way earlier and imposed some sense into this idiot,
    maybe he wouldnt have been
so happy to use his car to now finally kill someone..

    I agree with that.

In light of our sentencing precedents, I don't think his prison sentence was so bad. People have got less for similar offenses, including no jail time at all. But this guy should never be allowed to drive again. At least do that much.

Just curious, when you get your license "back" after 12 years, do you just get it back, or do you have to take a road test?

I would bet you'd have to get a road test, since it would be long expired by that time. He'd have no problem passing it tho, since he'll be on his best behavior.

Right! Maybe we can take bets on how long he'll go before he gets arrested for driving without a license.

I dunno about elsewhere but in Ontario he'd be a G1 beginner driver and have to go through the entire process to get his full licence again.

The problem is that lacking a piece of paper does nothing to physically prevent one from driving. We should have have cut his arms and legs off after his 3rd infraction.
