Henrik Sedin could only shake his head and smile when asked about the notoriety his team has achieved during the past year. The Vancouver Canucks captain gets it, though. In a league full of drama, great storylines and heroes, someone has to play the anta
This has been building up for years, it's not a one year wonder sort of thing, I think the arrogant fans have a lot to do with it just as much as the team does.
Now don't go telling me how bad the Oilers suck, Oiler fans already know that.
I suppose if you have no horse in the playoffs, you have to rely on the sucking bitter joy from other people's misery if or when the Canucks go out. Pathetic, really. It's entertainment. Fun. A game. A distraction. And for Dan adn Alta Redneck, just another wallow in their misanthropy.
"Zipperfish" said Well, if you don't live here, you don't have to. And I hasten to add, it really is a lousy city, Vancouver. I recommend staying away.
Definitely will during the playoffs. Burning and looting really isn't my idea of a good time.

I don't hate the Canucks, just some of their players - most teams have a couple of dicks on them, you need it to compete in the league these days. Still it could be worse, they could be the Flyers - talk about a whole team of d-bags!
Or the Penguins. When everyone was feeling sorry for Crosby we all kind of forgot what a cheapshotting, hot dogging, and whiny little pussy he can be. It says something that when the hockey media was all "Sid's Career Could Be Over!" almost all the other non-Penguin players in the league were like "good riddance" to him.
Yeah, I don't hate the Canucks as a team all that much. Can't say the same about a lot of their fans though. Talk about a massively over-exaggerated sense of entitlement despite having accomplished not much of anything over the last forty years.
Go ahead... hate the team. Hate the fans. Yeah, we're nothing but a bunch of assholes out here. Fine. Ok.
I'll be heading out tonight in my jersey to watch Game 1 with friends and will cheer my team on as far as they can go. I've been a Canucks fan for well over 30 years and have no intention to stop.

Because there's never been a riot in the states after a win (Detroit Pistons, Chicago Bulls). Just because some people (I won't call them fans) were morons after the final, doesn't mean they are a bad team. I every player in the league hates the Canucks, then they are doing their jobs. Winning back to back Presidents Cup's isn't too shabby either.
Actually some of us don't get to hate the Canucks because we rarely get to see them. I live near Toronto and the media there are really focused on the Leafs and the North Eastern teams. There are late evening games, usually two nights a week but it seems to me that Calgary is the feature team though it may be the Canucks or Oilers. In any case even if you made a point of watching their games from here you would not get much.

I'm looking forward to some good hockey.

Different situation. Making life hard for racists is always a good time.
