People voted and the CPC actually kept a campaign promise. Let it go.

The provincial Govt, both the PQ/PLQ, should instead start by getting their own issues straightened out, such as corruption in the construction industry, student protests, giving in to every union demands (ex: CPE), spending cuts, deficit reduction, try to reduce taxes instead of constantly adding new ones and much more.

Since surveys show that 62% of the population wanted the retention of the Registry, don't you think that might be a little more needing of attention by the government than a minority vote rthat was not on the single issue?

People vote for a totality of questions. Governments listen and drop those that people oppose unless there are serious circumstances beyond the capacity of the people to make judgement.

And that is with government that wins a majority of votes and not a rather small plurality.

Maybe that 62% should have voted when it counted?

The PC's made no bones about what was going to happen to the registry during their election campaign. Now they are following through.

I'm actually shocked that people are shocked...

Maybe they did. It is almost the percentage who did vote against the Conservatives.

Be that as it may! What do you call a government that rides roughshod over the Will of the people?

You might at least quote accurately. That way your lack of interest in democracy becomes more clear.

I'm very interested. I voted and the party I voted for earned a majority.

It's more fun to see the little fits of pique you suffer from every time you're reminded of the results of our democratic process.

All that self loathing he has...well not surprising seeing as everyone else thinks he's a fool.

I think it's incredibly naive to believe (that rhymed) that this database would just vanish, like a fart in the breeze, just because the legislature declared it over. Give your heads a shake. Now that it exists, the database will not be killed by a parliamentary vote.
