This story reminded me, painfully, of someone I knew who went through a similar experience. A former co-worker's wife (who I knew) had a lump in her breast that her doctor dismissed as "fatty tissue". Months later she developed back pain and after several examinations and elimination of any back injury it was determined she had spinal cancer that had spread from her original breast cancer. By the time it was diagnosed it was too late... within a year she was gone and she was only in her mid-30's... left behind 2 young sons and a very devastaded husband. ALWAYS get a 2nd opinion! Right away!
