Public Safety Minister Vic Toews acknowledges Parliament's hands may be tied when it comes to dealing with online videos attacking him.

But he urged MPs not to give up their pursuit of the issue, saying threats against them in the age of the Internet need to be examined.

What a low-life. If he didn't want people talking about how he's an adulterer he should have kept his pants on, and stayed faithful to his Christian marriage. He's a liar and a cheat, it's public knowledge. Deal with it.

Toews said that as a public figure, he expects his personal and political life to be under a microscope.

Case closed. Thanks for wasting more of our time Vic.

Well don't get me started on how the term "hackers" has been misappropriated. Nothing was even hacked. They put a video on Youtube. His divorce trial is public record. WTF are they investigating if no crime was committed?

I agree with your argument about the term hackers. However it was perpatrated by anonymous who we know have extensive hacking skills. They are well know to infiltrate private areas and publish private information that isn't in the public domain.

What does that have to do with Toews poking the Tiger with a stick?

Anonymous isn't even a group. You put a goofy mask on, an audio filter, webcam, and poof.. You're Anonymous. "They" don't exist, that's why you can't find them.

    Dumb.

Take away the name anonymous and "they" are still out there breaking the law.

They are not united, they do not specifically all support a single cause or ideal that each Anon believes. What each Anon believes and does is up to them. Some are a genuine threat, some are just out for a little fun and in the end do no real harm. They sometimes even do the right thing, exposing more serious crimes they may come across to authorities. You can't paint them all with one brush because as Curtman said 'they' don't really exist.

In this case nothing 'they' did was at all illegal, Toews may not like it so much but it could easily have been anyone. One thing's for sure, it's not a good idea to taunt someone. They may just find the nuisance becomes a bigger problem.

I like them. I say we keep them. The only people who should be scared of Anonymous are the real criminals.

But when it came time, they backed down against taking on real criminals. Nice hero's you have.

From what I understand, "they" did threaten him. They being the person in the video. The harperites won't investigate the voter suppression, but they're hard at work tracking down the 14 year old with a webcam. They're on a witch-hunt for an internet meme.

Scary stuff.. Run for your lives.

I thought you said they were Hackers? Isn't that the job of 'Federales'?

Nice wide brush you have there.
