Just more proof that psychiatrists are a bunch of quacks. But he should have been found criminally responsible at his trial.

Send the psychiatrist for psychological testing to see if he's an idiot.

Mr. Turcotte said he was distraught over the breakup of his marriage and didn't remember committing the act.

Mr. Morissette says there is no medical reason to keep Mr. Turcotte in the Pinel Institute.

Yeah, until his life is in turmoil again and he decides someone else needs to die because of it!

The Psychiatrist is just giving his Medical opinion. If you want more Justice, that's not his Job.

Whether or not there was intent, he should have been sentenced to prison and when served that sentence, to a mental institution for treatment. No punishment for a crime like this is ridiculous.
But psychiatrists do not judge and sentence.

Kind of agree. Shrinks aren't there to dispense justice.

The problem is that the Crown has their psychiatrists and the defence also has their psychiatrists. They pay for a medical opinion. And Turcotte was a cardiologist so he has the cash to pay the 'experts'.

Really, that should not be the case and the experts should not be on any party's payroll. The judge should demand analysis from neutral experts.

Just keep in mind that sandorski has made it very clear that he thinks the robocall controversy is a more serious issue than the killing of children.

Travesty of justice - fucking Quebec jury.

He should never have been found innocent, but at the very least with somebody like this they should be on lifetime parole - make sure the keep their noses clean and are popped back in the minute they step out of line.

What, you disagree? Is it your opinion that a psychiatrist is employed to dish out justice?

If the guy doesn't think, in his professional medical opinion, that the guy is a further threat to society, then that's his opinion.

    That's what he's paid for.

Blame the legal system that allowed this guy to kill his kids then get out a year or two later, or better yet, blame the irresponsible fuckface himself who killed his kids then demanded his freedom now that he's better.

Or blame the shrink and launch forum rockets.

    Innocent? Wrong. Not criminally responsible.

I'm confuzzled. Sandorski, Gunny and I all 3 say the same thing, yet Sandorski is getting beat up over it. No fair.

I think the problem with those who are complaining is that they don't really even accept the priciniple that those suffering from insanity or severe mental deficiency should ever be found not criminally responsible or unfit for trial.
