Baseball Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter dies at 57

Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter has died at the age of 57. The former Montreal Expos star was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour last May.

What a sad way to begin the baseball season. What a great player. He killed my Red Sox in '86. One of only 3 catchers in the past 50 years to get into the Hall of Fame. That's a rare talent at the game's most demanding position.

Me too. Used to watch the Expos every Sunday with my grandfather when I spent summers with my grandparents.

57... too young.
