The newspaper chain that delivers scantily clad women to family doorsteps across Canada is shocked that mature content is available on the Internet. But that shock only applies if the source is nominally the taxpayer-funded CBC.

Wow, what a different angle. I saw a headline "CBC funds porn" but didn't bother reading it. I guess that's SM's purpose here - just fling the shit and hope some sticks.

Would you like a sun source on this instead? Going to be hard as it is a story about media.

Hello? Has Moore been on the web lately? Does anyone out there think an unsupervised kid seeking thrills on a computer is going to end up watching a little nudity on foreign-language web TV?

Hello?? Are you seriously suggesting it's ok for the taxpayer to pony up so the CBC can show porn?
Sure, porn is everywhere on the internet, but I wonder how much of it is taxpayer funded!!
    What a douche.

Hell, even the French over the air channels show more t & a than the English ones do. They're just not as prudish.

I don't give shit what time of day or night it's on. Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook to pay for porn programming.
It's funny too cuz the CBC sure has had a lot to say about gov't spending recently.
If the CBC has money to throw away on porn, then maybe it's time to revisit the CBC's funding!

How throw away - they probably make a profit on it? (Of course the CBC could probably lose money showing porn) And just how hard is this porn? It just sounds like a French titty show.

The objection seems to be that it's made in France. Well I say it's high time we gave employment to our fine Canadian porn actors. Do we have to outsource everything? At least it's not made in China.

You like having your tax dollars being spent on porn programming?

Privatize the CBC, then they can show whatever the hell they want and Canadian taxpayers will save 1 billion dollars a year.

Meh, they buy all sorts of international content. There /is/ a demographic for it so those taxpayers that watch it are being served. It's on a specialty channel and this specialty channel probably earns them more money than it costs. It's not harming you, you're obviously not it's target demographic so why the outrage?

I'm disappointed that the CBC feels it needs that kind of nonsense.

Haven't seen it, but it's directed at a French audience. They may not deem it porn, since they get a lot less uptight about frontal nudity than we do.
