Conservative Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu, who sits on the committee studying the omnibus crime bill, says he is against the death penalty but that convicted killers have a right to have a rope in their cells.
Not the wisest citation to say for a public figure in politics but I can't say I disagree. It's metaphorical. I won't shed a tear for a murderer who kills himself and saves the society some millions $.
"martin14" said What a great guy to have sitting on the committee examining the crime bill...
Why ?
Because he has an opinion on something ? No, because he let his rage and emotion overwhelm his reason and common sense (which he has since admitted, apologized for, and retracted his original statement.)

No doubt. That's exactly why he shouldn't be on this committee.

Can't see why that would be the case. Everyone should have shades of beige for an opinion?

hmm, I think I would prefer people who have experience being a victim
of crime sitting on a crime committee.
No substitute for personal knowledge of a topic.
