The primary concern I have is safety.
There is going to be a problem eventaully of where does the balance of freedom of religion end and public safety begin.
I am pretty sure btw, that when I walk into a gas station in the middle of the night with a ski mask on, you guys will arrest me. But not when I am wearing a burqa?
This is just anothemeaninglessss law which won't be enforced because cops have better things to do.
We see the same thing here with police and small amounts of pot. People aren't arrested and processed for pot possession too much which means the police can concentrate on real crime.

In The Netherlands, there is now (or will be soon). Ski mask and burqa are equivalent.

No, it's not. There are over a million Muslims in The Netherlands. Only 300 or so wear a burqa. Most of them wear a headscarf, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Do you know how scary it is to work at a gas station, and someone with a burqa walks in at 3 am? VERY scary. Just as scary as if it would be someone with a ski mask or a full face helmet on (not riding a motor bike).
You don't want people working at your store wearing a burqa. You don't want people working at your bank wearing a burqa. Or a ski mask. Or a full face helmet.
I don't support a full ban, just where necessary for reasons of security - broadly defined. Including the right of any private property owner to ban them, with no bullshit about religions rights.

You could have a law that bans them in specific locations. Or just allow the owner to ban them - ie "no face coverings allowed on premises. Police will be called" Why ban them totally? And especially why ban that long gown they wear - as I said, are they going to ban long coats and evening gowns too?
