This story just keeps getting better and better. I fell into a lifeboat has got to be 2012's new euphamism.

I think it can replace the "my dog ate my homework" :P

"I was helping some passengers put the life boat to sea. At a certain point the mechanism for lowering it, blocked. We had to force it. Suddenly the system unblocked itself and I tripped and I found myself inside the life boat with a number of passengers."

    Sure you did, Mr. Ismay.

From what I remember of the life boats, it is physically impossible to "trip" into them. His bullshit excuses just keeps reminding us what a coward the man truly is.

I caught my ex cheating once and that was her excuse too.

Ok, let's pretend he did "accidentally" fall into the lifeboat. Still doesn't excuse his dicking around when told to get back on board the ship by the Port Authority.

They are sealed units, and you have to climb UP to them, IIRC. If he fell in to one, why didn't he just get back out?

And why was he off the Bridge during a disaster such as this in the first place?

Going by the looks of the guy the only things he fell into before the ship crashed was a pile of cocaine and a couple of cheap blondes.

Italians. I'll never understand what it was that the Fuhrer thought he saw in these people. 8)

    Cheap manpower.

The captain is done but what of the XO? And there is a review going on in the US who is responsible for this cruise line, are they actually going to be held to account for this fiasco?

Allies were hard to find for Nazi Germany, they didn't favour the Italians so much as they were stuck with them.

    Still stuck with them today.
