"Regina" said Rain on the west coast? Who'd have thunk.
It is indeed hard to imagine. I just spent three hours in hiking a couple of very muddy back trails. I think a very hot shower is in order (maybe a nap too)
East Coast winters are a hell of a lot more miserable than West Coast ones. I spent a winter in Halifax while I went to Fleet School. You start with rain and then you wake up to 3 ft of snow....and temperatures that got down to -20C with a wet wind coming off of the North Atlantic. I'll take the rain and wind of the West Coast over the Rain, snow, gales and cold of the east any day....mind you they do have nice summers and Autumns.

I spent a chunck of summer in Halifax - hated it. Too hot asnd humid.
With winter, at least the east coast houses seem to be built for winter. Houses out here aren't well built for winter - or at least the older homea aren't.
We were doing our TSQAB about then...damage control with the water being piped in from an ice covered lake. Talk about retracting testicles. pretty well everyone was sick after that.

Yeah, what a surprise it is.
...sunny and cold enough to freeze your balls off or cloudy and 30 cm of snow.
and not that west coast winter weather...
...cloudy and rain or cloudy, windy and a lot of rain or "Sunny! WTF is that???" and even more rain.
I'd rather have my winter weather...

You'd be surprised how many easterners come out here, spend a winter and hate it because they can't stay warm.
Winters here suck!

East Coast are very wet and cold, just nasty.
But the West winters are just soooooooooooooo .. depressing.
I got to Cornwallis in early August and didn't mind the summers at all. As I said previously, falls were buh you tee full there.
I got to Cornwallis in February.
It sucked.
Warm and sunny on the California part of the West Coast!
I found it the same way.....although it could have been a touch warmer.
