A Vancouver-area man who tried to circumcise his four-year-old son on the kitchen floor after a religious awakening could face more than a decade in jail after being convicted of aggravated assault.
"Gunnair" said This is freaking horrifying what this asshole put his child through. Poor little guy.
Karma might suggest he gets the same treatment in prison. He's so "raptured", he performed his own circumcision, I don't think anything they do to him in prison will bother him. Best will be to keep in in solitary for the rest of his life, so that he can't contaminate anybody else.
He performed his own circumcision and botched it so he tries again on his 4 year old. I would never make it as a Judge. One day, something like this would come into my court and I'd whip out a gun and rule the guy is too fucking stupid to live and shoot him right there where he stood.

I hear ya! In cases like this it would take 5 seconds to make a decision... "Next!"
Before anyone thinks what I'm about to say is a justification for this asshole's "attempts" at circumcision, it's not. The topic just made me aware of a potential problem with the whole circy thing.
With more hospitals and doctors refusing to perform them, there will be more and more parents having to initally do the job of keeping things hygenic down there and then teaching the kid how to do it themselves.
With the way some idiots are tending to over-react to almost anything these days, I can see a bunch of parents being charged with sexual molestation.

Rates of male infant circumcision in the province of Quebec dropped from about 30% in 1971 to a rate of less than 3% in 2003. The rate in the province of Ontario, Canada's most populous province, dropped from about 60% in 1971 to about 18% in 2003. Western provinces generally dropped the same rate to about 20-25% in 2003. Newfoundland had a 1971 rate of about 7% and has dropped to about .6% at most in 2001. Nova Scotia had a 1971 rate of approximately 53% and has dropped to a 2001 rate of 1.5%.
Haven't really heard about any parents being charged so far. You're not going to go all Hyperboleous on us, are you?

But no worries, it was just a thought that had popped into my head, not anything I'd been mulling over for weeks.
Amazing the things people will do in the name of religion.
I did not have my son circumcised and as andyt points out with his statistics on how much the rates have dropped it is a procedure that is slowly disappearing aside from those who do it for religious reasons. With people being more educated that it is not required for hygienic purposes most parents will choose not to utilize a procedure that in my opinion is barbaric.

I have enough trouble getting our 7 year old to sit still while I clip his nails.
Honey wine...
