The Montreal Canadiens are feeling the heat after tossing aside a French-speaking head coach for an anglophone replacement who can't speak the language that the majority of Quebecers understand.

Now the government of Quebec is getting involved. This is why I can't stand the antics from this Province.

What did Quebec do when the Expos had players that didn't speak French?

I finally started cheering for the Habs just last season when some whiney fucks complained the team wasn't "french" enough.

Looks like it's time to start hating them again.

Maybe the fans would be happy if Montreal just got rid of all it's non-French speaking players too. After all, the fans should be able to understand the between period interviews.

Sports columnist Rejean Tremblay said Monday that the coach of the Montreal Canadiens appears on TV in Quebec more often than Prime Minister Stephen Harper or Premier Jean Charest.

For that reason, he argues that the top Habs coach simply has to speak French.

"Eighty per cent of that province is French and that means that you cannot communicate with those people," he told CTV Montreal in a telephone interview on Monday.

Yep, and a pretty fucking large portion of that 80% speak English just fine so it ain't like they won't be able to understand the coach.

Kind'a interesting that he'd equate hockey in Quebec to politics since it's become readily apparent that many of the Quebecois don't give a shit about who's best qualified for a particular job, as long as the person can speak French.

PS. Good luck getting a team in Quebec City now. The NHL ain't interested in your petty politicking.

How are the Expos doing, anyhow? They never seem to have those scores on the news anymore.

This non-story is really big here. Since the implosion of the Bloc Québécois and with the Parti Québécois getting less than 20% of the vote, the media are burning every story that could 'revive' the separatist movement and bring back the hatred of the Anglophone. Pathetic.

I don't think the coach will have much problems. He just has to learn a few simple phrases like "Aller frapper que guy upside de tete, hein." And "Essayez de ne pas de saigner tous les plus de mon beau costume."

Another humdinger from the most retarded province in Confederation.

"In Quebec, the Canadiens aren't just a hockey team," sports writer Philippe Cantin said in a column published in Montreal's La Presse.

"They are also an institution. And like all institutions, they have a responsibility to the community."

Bah ha ha ha ha! There a sports team moron. They could pick up and move tomorrow if it suited the owner and league. I'm show the No-dicks were an institution too. How are they doing?

The Hab's have bigger problems than a coach that can't sprechen ze French. They've got a bunch of overpaid underproducing forwards, who, when combined with the over the hill gang playing defense are only adept at sucking money out of the Molson bothers.

The problem with the habs is that Scotty Bowman left, Toe Blake, Sam Pollock and Frank Selke died and everyone else is more concerned about whether a coach, player or manager can speak french than win games.

All these things have turned a once storied franchise into the laughing stock of the NHL.

Stupid stupid stupid. I almost wish now that the Habs go on to win the Stanley Cup with this coach just to shut those idiots up and good.
