Czech citizens, leaders and foreign politicians pay tribute to the late Vaclav Havel, the dissident playwright who led the 1989 Velvet Revolution that peacefully toppled communism in the former Czechoslovakia.
Funny how there is so little discussion about a man who helped to change the world. His Velvet Revolution in 1989 was a major step in a process that ended the Soviet Empire. Czechoslovakia was/is a model of how 'peaceful' change can happen. It broke free of the Soviet control and later divided along ethnic lines with almost no blood shed.
