I guess if they don't feel they have to leave peacefully then they should not expect to be removed peacefully.

Demonstrators like Sasha Wiley argue the death is just one of many that happen across the city everyday.

"That would try and use this as an excuse to end a legitimate, peaceful assembly where people are using their constitutional rights and freedom of expression to demand systemic change to prevent problems like this is frankly kind of disgusting political opportunism," Wiley said.

Yep. It's Wall Street's fault that some girl OD's on heroin.

    Dumb.

I think it should end, but the protester interviewed in the article makes a good point, that people die of drug related deaths fairly often in the City, but it doesn't get this kind of attention. I don't think the fact they were at this occupy site is the cause and it is an illegitimate excuse to end it forcefully.

Who seriously has time to sit under a tarp in a public park for weeks? The protesters are as much a burden to working Canadians as the broken financial system is. It's kind of funny how the people that didn't contribute anything to the system in the first place are the ones protesting the loudest.

saw this in the comments section. It makes the most sense out of anything I've read so far.

    Nice find Shep.

I'm with Trev too in that the one protester made sense when they said that, but you don't need the occupy site to show off Vancouver's drug problem, already have the DTES and Surrey for that.

She also uses it to state that the OD is a result of Wall Street and its ilk.

    Not quite true either.

You know, if the NDP supporter is onside with seeing this for what it is then I don't know what else can be added.
