If this had happened in Canada I'd be surprised.

    Utah? Not so much.

What the hell is a Haka?

It's meant to intimidate your foes/strangers and test their bravery. In the old days you held your ground and stared them down or else you could find yourself brained. The British just shot them....sort of intimidating when you had a bunch of big polynesian boys, ranging between 6 and 6 1/2 feet tall moving towards you.

I know what it is Shep, I was just imagining the reasoning and conversation the Utah police had.

Told to leave private property, they didn't, blocked the exit, told to disperse, they didn't, two cops outnumbered at least 3 to 1 by pretty large dudes being very aggressive.

well in a sense, it did work, as it is supposed to elicit a response from the other party.....don't think they were anticipating that reaction though .

Played Rugby for over 30 years (once against a tourning NZL team and witnessed it firsthand), can't say I've ever heard of the Haka referred to as a "Dance"

But this is 2011. You should be able to disobey the police and do whatever the hell you want and then bitch when things get ugly.

Yes, but why do I suspect that when the inevitable video gets posted it shows a radically different event than what the police reported?
