On Wednesday, Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyards was awarded an $8-billion federal contract for construction of coast guard and other non-combat ships.

MacPherson said journeymen in the marine trade earn, on average, $35 an hour plus benefits.

Simply ironic how Christy Clark is celebrating the award when the contract went to a shipyard her own gov't said wasn't qualified enough to build new BC Ferries a few years back.
