The Supreme Court of Canada on Friday freed a Quebec woman charged in the fatal shooting of her husband on the grounds that rogue police officers systematically violated her constitutional rights

    However, Judge Deschamps said that Ms. C?t?s expectation of privacy was reduced under the circumstances ? and that gravity of a murder offence easily outweighed the violation of her rights.


    She was the only one to figure that one out? Really? No wonder the average citizen has no faith in the courts.

    Don't blame the courts.

    Blame the police officers that decided that they were not bound by official procedures.

    Those procedures are in place for a reason, and they should be followed.

    Yes, but we know she's guilty, so the cops shouldn't have to play by the rules with murdering scumbags like her.

    sorry while I don't like seeing those quilty go free, it's a slippery slope when you 'bend' the rules for some and not others. Then the line gets more and more blurry and before you know it, the police can do whatever they want whenever they want.

    I don't buy that, if they would have simply done some good old fashioned police work, she would be in jail where she belongs.

    Their job is to get these people off the streets so others are safe. They assured she stays on the street so she can victimize again. Unless something is missing in this story (its media after all) they blew it bad.
