Millions of people watch the game, millions don't tune in just to watch Cherry, although I'm sure many do.

The fact is, Cherry is a dinosaur and most recently, I think he stepped in a big pile of "washed up".

The game is changing around Cherry and he's not sure what to do but lash out and use the 10 brain cells he has left. It's the beginning of the end for Cherry.

I dont think Cherry defamed anyone, but he is a Grad-A asshole and I'll take the opinion of players and ex-enforcers who actually walked the walk over some idiot loudmouth who cant even respect an informed difference of opinion.

Don Cherry may be a hockey encyclopedia, but that doesn't mean he has the credentials to speak about head injuries. Bob Proberts' brain tells a different story than Mr. "Rock 'em Sock 'em".

I don't own a Lazyboy, nor do I watch the incredibly boring game known as hockey but you can't get away from this guy. He's everywhere, if you watch hockey or not. You'd think he was some sort of icon. I'll give him creativity points for the suits.

The CBC is a free run turkey costing only those that are FORCED to support it (and we know who that is).

Hockey has gone from occasional bench clearing brawls (60's early 70's), then to the Philadelphia Flyers era and their "style" of play (about the time Cherry started coaching), to then the designated fighters era (used by all teams to protect the cream of the crop players because outright fighting was banned and very penalizing to a team) and then to the head hunting era of the last twenty years where brains are meant to be scrambled.

I remember the International game of the 60's with absolutely no fighting (just dirty back stabbing like spitting) and Cherry abhors that style.

Of all the styles of hockey, give me mixture of the 60's and some International rules where with the two together you had players giving each other respect for their trade and coaches stuck to hockey skills, not mixed marshal arts.

That's what they said about his playing career, his coaching career and his broadcasting career.

Say what you will about the guy, he always seems able to reinvent himself and remain relevant. If he didn't we wouldn't be talking about him and his comments.
