Not the end of the world:
MARCOULE, France (Reuters) - A worker was killed in an explosion at a French nuclear waste site on Monday, but officials said there was no radioactive leak and the authorities quickly declared the emergency over.

From what I can see in the article their reactors were all fairly old (it mentions 1st generation reactors which are antiques). People will still fearmonger on nuclear tech over it though despite the new nuclear sites being incredibly safe.

How many nuclear accidents have we heard about from France? Considering 80% of their electricity is from nuclear, I'd say their old stuff is pretty safe too.

Not even close to as safe as Gen 3 stuff which is next to impossible to get a meltdown with.
