Harper delays Arctic trip after fatal plane crash

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has delayed his annual Arctic tour until Tuesday morning after a plane crash claimed the lives of 12 people in a small northern community, his office said on Sunday.

Low visibility in combination with the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) being disabled is going to be the probable cause of the crash.

In odd approaches over terrain (like at the old Hong Kong airport) pilots often will switch off the GPWS which is why I mention it.
