Walkers strolling along the 400-block of E 17th Street might not realize it, but they’re treading on recycled tires.

We had rubber running tracks made of tires 20 years ago when I was in high school.
I thought it was a fantastic idea then too. I have no idea why it never caught on though. That track has never been repaired and looks the same today as it did 20 years ago.
