More power to him. Just remember everyone, running for President doesn't mean becoming President.

    Bart you forgot Prayer.

First poll out shows Perry in second place behind Romeny

Perry is very unpopular with Democrats in the state. His record on Job creation is very good. Some where between 1/3-1/2 of jobs created in the US is in Texas. He has some liability on things he has said over the years. The biggest one that comes to mind is his statement about Texas succeeding from the Union. He won a lot of praise for refusing Federal money loans a few years ago.

    Romney is a flip-flopper.
Perry can't separate church and state. They should be proud.

I'm kind of suprised, given the US economy and postion in the world that anyone would be interested in the job.

The pays not great, you've got people shitting all over you from both sides of the poltical spectrum, every other country in the world buns you in effigy weekly and all the female interns look like Cloris Leachman on a meth jag.

Oh well I guess some peoples vanity Trumps logic.

It comes with a pretty sweet company car. Just look how happy you'd be sitting in the back.

As of last night though, Rachel Maddow is floating a conspiracy theory that Rick Perry is just a Manchurian Candidate for a far-Right Christian group bent on making the USA a theocracy. No word on if she also thinks Mr. Obama is a secret Muslim.

I doubt he loses any sleep over that.

No I would think he's content with their dissatisfaction. We really don't get how lucky we've been in Texas the economic down turn has not hit us any where as hard as other states. I went to Ohio in July, first time home in 11yrs, was depressing seeing how many were unemployed from losing their jobs. The place is not the same as it was last time I was there. I just looked and thought wow I'm one lucky S.O.B. to have a job that pays good and can actually pay my bills.

From the reaction he is getting I think he's a shoe in for the GOP nomination. The media left has hailed him as Bush the Third and the right think he's the next Ronald Regan. Anyone think he's the antichrist?

Eh, his grades are just about at G.W.Bush's and John Kerry's level.

Nah. Reagan was the devil, Perry is simply Bush 2.0 with less electability. I can see him winning the nomination but then get humbled in the election.
