A multi-millionaire screaming class slogans? His real punishment will be when he looks bnack ten years down the road and realizes what a doofus he was. I'm glad they tossed him in jail. Cool your jets, kid.
It was the swinging from the Cenotaph and then claiming he didn't know what it was which annoyed me the most.
He's just an annoying Lefty who cares nothing about the British war dead, a bit like the then Labour Party leader Michael Foot who wore a donkey jacket whilst laying a wreath at the Cenotaph during the 1981 Remembrance Day commemorations.
This is Gilmour's excuse:
Friends of Charlie Gilmour say rejection by his rediscovered natural father sparked the binge on drink and drugs that led to his being jailed for 16 months for violent disorder last week
Gilmour had traced the author Heathcote Williams - who deserted his mother - to Oxford last summer after being told he was dying by his adoptive father David Gilmour and his mother, the author Polly Samson.
But a few months later Williams, 69, who is notoriously eccentric, sent his son a long rambling email saying he was cutting him out of his life.
"Batsy" said It was the swinging from the Cenotaph and then claiming he didn't know what it was which annoyed me the most.
I assume you never been on LSD before to understand its effects?
Claiming he didn't know what it was could very well be true, but it still doesn't excuse his actions. Even though he was probably completely off his rocker that day because of the drugs, he did choose to take those drugs, and thus, is responsible for his actions and should face the consequences.
But a "Violent Rampage?"
Hardly. He acted like an idiot, took a ride on a flag, jumped on the hood of a car and tossed a garbage can at it.... OOooOoooo.... get the guns, let's shoot him now before he kills us all!!!
He's just an annoying Lefty who cares nothing about the British war dead,
So someone being annoying is justification to toss someone in jail these days?
I better update my list of people I find annoying and send it into the police then.
And if it was proven in court & accepted that he was under the influence of alcohol and more importantly, LSD, then there's a good chance he truly didn't know what the Cenotaph was, just saw the pretty coloured flag and decided to go on a ride and had no intentions of disrespecting anybody, dead or alive.... but again, that's not to excuse what he did and should face the penalties for it...... but the problem lies in you pulling assumptions out of you-know-where when it comes to what he thinks or believes. You don't know and neither do I.
He disrespected the National War Memorial. A big no-no, especially in a country that has seen it's young men coming home in bags for decades.
He also threw a bin at the convoy in which the heir to the throne was travelling in.
Maybe that means fuck all to you praxious but the Brits were rightly pissed off and the sentence is seen as fair by all I know.
Yes, it does seem fair, when did I say it wasn't? Perhaps you should re-read what I previously posted.
I'm just saying that some in here trying to assume what he was thinking at the time is stretching things a bit. As I said, I'm not defending his actions, but him saying he didn't know what it was, while under the influence of alcohol and acid, could very well be true depending on how much he took.
Again.... that doesn't excuse his actions, but it does disqualify anybody's assumptions over what he was thinking at the time and assuming what his intent was.
Fuck, I'm well wazzed on coke, weed and booze. What's that big fuck-off flag hanging from that huge obelisk in the middle of London? I'm so high that I think I'll kick those wreaths outta the way, climb up those names of the plebs and swing off that red, white and blue cloth.
University student from Cambridge tried to claim he didn't know he was swinging from the Cenotaph.
Fucking moronic little punk, at least
he isn't David's biological son.
Included swinging from the flag at the Cenotaph.

And that is important WHY??

Oh, well. Many of us are punished in that way, and I hope 10 years from now I'll get another spanking. Otherwise it means I'm not growing.

I'd help you out but I already promised Brenda a spanking.

Oh yea. Being high totally excuses that.
I'm not defending his actions,
Then stop defending his actions with your PC BS.
