Leafs could find gems among late draft picks

Take heart Maple Leafs fans. If Brian Burke can’t make a deal to move up the squad up in the draft this weekend, all is not lost. Not if his scouts are at the top of their game in Minnesota.

Wow, this reporter must be a hard core Leaf fan.....

Basically what he said was, if Burke can't make a trade for a higher draft pick, this draft will not in any way help the Leafs. But, if hell does freeze over, the Leafs could get a possible third or fourth line guy in that 25th spot.

He sugar coated that article so much, it's dripping syrup...

Who was the last Leafs' draft pick that actually made any significant on-ice contribution as a Leafs?

I'd suggest the answer is Vincent Damphousse, drafted in .

Sounds like the guy read this and decided to write something like it.

It's getting harder and harder trying to find and write anything concerning the Leafs that is anywhere near positive. 8O

AS bad as it is being a Canuck fan right now, at least I can still lok myself in the mirror and say "At least I'm not a Leafs fan."

    Hey!!!

Actually, this is a pretty good time to be an Oiler fan. Sure, we've had a couple really bad seasons and expect a couple more bad seasons, but it's expected. It was made clear from the start that this was gonna be a long term process so it's not too hard to deal with. Especially since we have the one thing that places like Toronto and Calgary don't. Real hope. Real skilled young prospects, and lot's of em. Of course, one never knows how things will work out in hockey, but the future looks very bright here.

It's alright. It's not like we put any stock in the opinions of Habs fans anyways. ;)

Only for the first year. After that you get used to it. And this week we get to chant "we're number 1! pick"
