A man whose Facebook posts went viral because of their claims of having "kicked a lot of riot pigs' shields" and been covered in "blood that wasn't his" denies having anything to do with a riot.
"I didn't post that on the internet," Chickite told CTV News. "So many people have my password. I didn't post that at all."
Ah yes, so many people have his password.... sure... and he didn't bother to think to change his password?
Chickite's claims could be checked by authorities, who can use cell phone records to track postings as part of a police investigation.
Not just his cell phone records, but IP Addresses as well...... oh, unless so many people use his cell phone & computer too.
Chickite says it wasn't him and he hasn't been arrested or charged. "It wasn't me doing anything -- everyone was just trying to get out. Someone else stole my phone."
Oh, they stole his phone too.... wow, he's just very unlucky I guess.
His mother told CTV News that Chickite isn't an anarchist or a career rioter.
I see the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.... A Career Rioter?
How the sweet hell does someone make a career out of rioting? Are there any benifits? How about a Union??
What a fk'n moron.... Just remember kids, don't huff paint, or you'll end up like our friend here when you grow up.
Let's hope the cops at least do their jobs after the riot and track all these pukes down. Funny how when cars are being burned and stores trashed, there's no cops to be found, but when it comes time to bust heads of peaceful protesters, the cops wade in with a vengeance. Guess 'cause the peaceful ones don't fight back.
But Chikite has nothing to worry about, since he's apparently First Nations and it would be too "delicate" to go after him. Might be another riot on his reserve if the they come to arrest him. Plus the VPD budget probably doesn't stretch to ferry rides to Quadra.

Well, isn't that a presumptuous post? Did it ever occur to you that people trash where the cops aren't? There are only so many cops available to police the downtown zone; you can't abandon everywhere else. Why burn a car in front of the police when you can do it when nobody is looking?
Ditto looting.

There's an interesting portion of his quote; "Somebody stole my phone." To me, that says either he knew who posted on his Facebook wall (which I don't believe) OR he knows who stole his phone (again with the disbelief). If he's truly clueless about who hacked/stole what, why has he already eliminated the possibility it could be the same person who did both?
His mom's "career rioter" statement is pretty informative. Wanna bet he went apeshit at Olympic protests in 2010?

Hopefully everyone realizes that when the time comes almost all of these assholes are going to get off with time served and very minor fines. The judges will be feeling sorry for them as usual and the prosecutors aren't going to be able to find enough prison spaces for them anyway, so it's going to be major amounts of deal-making and lots of pathetically inadequate slaps on the wrist for practically all of them that they catch. Between the genuinely crappy parenting that produced every single one of these low-life bastards and a justice system that is nothing of the sort, expect this to happen again. And then again after that. And then again after that.
The train's reached it's destination. Welcome to Gehenna, folks!

Do you know Vancouver at all? The trashers and looters were right where the crowd had been watching TV. Where were the cops - out for donuts? Everybody was looking, including the TV crews. The only ones not there were the cops. The cops not only had their own people on standby, but re-inforcements from all over the metro area. But, they held off for a long time, and then there were first a half dozen on horseback who just sat there, then a half dozen in riot gear who get themselves pushed back for their trouble. So where were all those standby cops. If it's the case as you suggest, that they only have a handful available (which it's not), then I guess holding events like this is the hight of irresponsibility. Although for your pov, there aren't any cops available to prevent it anyway.
And, here's more:
Vancouver police Chief Jim Chu defended the police preparations, but said in hindsight it would have been better to have more police deployed downtown initially.
Well duh. They said they were prepared for anything. Doesn't sound like it.
Well I can't top Andy the policing, riot and crowd control armchair expert. Stupid cops, you should just rush in shooting and swinging the moment something starts don't you know?
Who cares if it is in Vancouver, riots are riots and mob mentality works the same around the world and the reaction to it (by professional Law Enforcement) is pretty much also the same, calculated. Although maybe that international large event security conference I once went to was just full of crap, they just should have had Andy as the keynote expert, key speech theme "eliminating poverty is key to eliminating riots."
So the police chief admitting he should have handled it differently doesn't cut it for you? Blaming anarchists is all very fine. Wrong but fine. But even if it was the anarchists, we've had those with us for decades. As Chu says, they tried to disrupt the Olympic stuff too, yet somehow the cops managed to shut them down that time. So being prepared for anything would mean, I would think, expecting the anarchists to try it again this time.
But I guess you come from the let the rioters burn themselves out and then we'll move in school. Same as the G20 cops - let the black block run riot, then next day bash heads of the peaceful protesters. They don't fight back, so that's a bonus.
"andyt" said So the police chief admitting he should have handled it differently doesn't cut it for you? Blaming anarchists is all very fine. Wrong but fine. .
So, to be clear then, you are saying that the people actually doing the looting, burning and attacking are blameless?

You need your head examined. No, they are not. But the police (not the officers, but the ones who thought it was a good idea to think nothing would happen because we are so friendly) are not blameless either. They were understaffed, they were not prepared. They should have been. Being the peoples "best friend" works only when it is a 2 way street. The police should have known better, should have anticipated more.
When I heard the Chiefs speech before the game, I thought "oh boy, you are naive...". You cannot control 250 rioters with only 25 officers on bikes and horses.

Yep, it's the cops fault.

Don't knock it! It's actually a nice place.

In 2007 Money magazine listed it in the 100 best places to live in the USA.
